Travel Information

Arriving by Air

Participants flying into Philadelphia International Airport should take a taxi, a hotel shuttle, or the train from the airport to the Sheraton Society Hill Hotel. The taxi ride takes 15-20 minutes, and the fare from the airport to this hotel and all other destinations in Center City is $28.50 plus tip. The hotel shuttle vans cost less, but take longer and make several stops. Your least expensive and slowest choice is via SEPTA regional rail; trains leave the airport every 30 minutes, cost $6, and take 25 minutes to reach Market East Station at Eleventh and Market Streets - the closest station to the hotel, a 15 minute walk.

Arriving by Train

30^th Street Station in West Philadelphia is the only Amtrak station for Philadelphia. Take a taxi from 30^th Street Station to the Sheraton Society Hill Hotel. The fare is about $10.

Arriving by Car

From New England and New York

Take the New Jersey Turnpike to Exit 4 and follow the signs to Camden and the Benjamin Franklin Bridge. Cross the bridge into Philadelphia, make a hard right turn at the foot of the bridge at the Fifth Street Exit, continuing right onto New Street (cobblestones) for one block, turn right again onto Fourth Street (one-way street), drive five blocks South to Chestnut Street, then left onto Chestnut Street to Second Street. Make a right onto Second Street and drive one block to Walnut Street and the Sheraton Society Hill Hotel.

Parking

The hotel has valet parking, but we recommend that you use the garage on Second Street between Chestnut and Walnut Streets just before you reach the hotel. The garage is half way down the block on Second Street on your left side. After parking, you can continue walking (with traffic) down Second Street to Walnut Street to the Sheraton Society Hill Hotel.

From central New Jersey

Take Interstate 95 South to Exit 22 (the Interstate 676 exit to Central Philadelphia/Independence Hall), take the Callowhill Street Exit, turn right onto Callowhill Street (one-way street), turn left onto Fourth Street (one-way), and drive five blocks South to Chestnut Street, then left onto Second Street. For parking, see above. When you exit the garage continue walking along Second Street (with traffic) to the Sheraton Society Hill Hotel, on the corner of Walnut and Second Streets.

From the South

Take Interstate 95 North to Exit 20 (Delaware Avenue/Columbus Boulevard), turning left at the stoplight at the bottom of the Exit ramp. Continue along Delaware Avenue to the sixth stoplight (Hyatt Hotel on your right), turn left onto Dock Street at the Sheraton Society Hill Hotel. For parking, see above.

From the West

take Interstate 676 into and through Central Philadelphia and take the exit marked I-676 E/US 30 E/BEN FRANKLIN BR. As you exit, turn slightly right onto Sixth Street (one-way), being careful NOT to turn left onto Benjamin Franklin Bridge. After one block on Sixth Street, turn left onto Race Street (one-way), drive two blocks to Fourth Street, turn right on Fourth Street (one way) and drive five blocks South to Chestnut Street, then left onto Second Street. For hotel parking, see above. When you exit the garage continue walking along Second Street (with traffic) to the Sheraton Society Hill Hotel, on the corner of Walnut and Second Streets.
