Travel Information

Arrival by Plane

Berlin-Tegel Airport

From Berlin-Tegel Airport please take Express Bus Line X9 or Bus Line 109 to Bahnhof Zoologischer Garten. Buses operate in frequent intervals (10 minutes) between 5:30 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes.
At "Zoologischer Garten" you enter the train station across the bus stop and take the S-Bahn Line S7 (Suburban Railway) to Potsdam-Hauptbahnhof. This ride takes approx. 30 minutes.
Total travelling time from the airport to Potsdam: 60 - 90 minutes
For public transport please purchase a ticket "Berlin ABC", which is also valid for Potsdam.

Taxi / Tram: From Potsdam Hauptbahnhof you reach the Steigenberger Hotel Sanssouci comfortably by taxi within 5 minutes. Fare: approx. EURO 5,00 one way (tip not included).

You can also take a tram: Line X 98 or Line 91, direction Pirschheide, get off at "Luisenplatz" where the Steigenberger Hotel Sanssouci is located.

Taxi fare from Berlin-Tegel Airport to the hotel: approx. EURO 40,00 one way (tip not included)
Travelling time: approx. 45 - 60 minutes depending on traffic!

Berlin-Schönefeld Airport:

For those of you arriving at Berlin-Schönefeld-Airport please take a short walk of approx. 5 to 10 minutes from the airport to the train station + S-Bahn station. Shuttle buses are also available.
At the station you take S-Bahn Line S9 (Suburban Railway) to "Zoologischer Garten". Then change for S7 to Potsdam-Hauptbahnhof.
For public transport please purchase a ticket "Berlin ABC", which is also valid for Potsdam, before boarding the train. Ticket machines are available in the train station.

Please note that at the time of the conference public transportation in Potsdam might be affected by permanent construction work. Please check back later if any changes of tramlines or a placement of other additional information have occured.

Arrival by Car

Driving to Potsdam from the south:

Take the motorways A 9 and A10 (Berliner Ring). Leave the motorway at exit "Potsdam-Michendorf" and follow the B 2 towards Potsdam. Cross "Lange Brücke" straight ahead, turn left into "Breite Strasse", then turn right into "Zeppelinstrasse" until you reach "Luisenplatz" where the Steigenberger Hotel Sanssouci is located.

Driving to Potsdam from the east:

Take the motorway A 12 to Berlin, then motorway A 10 to Potsdam. Leave this motorway at exit "Potsdam-Michendorf" and follow the B 2 towards Potsdam. Cross "Lange Brücke" straight ahead, turn left into Breite Strasse, then turn right into Zeppelinstrasse until you reach "Luisenplatz" where the Steigenberger Hotel Sanssouci is located.

Driving to Potsdam from the north:

Take the motorway A 24 and enter the motorway A 10 to Potsdam. Take exit "Potsdam Nord" and follow the B 273 towards Potsdam. Go straight ahead on "Bornstedter Strasse/Schopenhauer Strasse" until you reach "Luisenplatz" where the Steigenberger Hotel Sanssouci is located.

Driving to Potsdam from the west:

Take the motorway A 10 direction Hamburg. Take exit "Groß Kreutz" and follow the B 1 towards Potsdam. Go straight ahead on "Zeppellinstrasse" until you reach "Luisenplatz" where the Steigenberger Hotel Sanssouci is located.

There is a public underground parking that costs EURO 14,00 per day (on availability).
