Support the Humboldt Foundation

Foster the next generation of out­stand­ing, internationally mobile and globally-minded researchers by making a do­na­tion, which will allow the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation greater scope to provide additional benefits and develop new ideas and initiatives.

With their intellectual creativity and cos­mo­pol­i­tanism Humboldtians enrich universities and research institutions throughout Germany and across the world. They are part of a worldwide network that now connects more than 28,000 Humboldtians with each other and with Germany - 30,000 valuable partners for researchers in Germany, and excellent ambassadors for German science and research in the world.

How we are financed

The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation’s activities are primarily financed by public funders. Besides this, your support opens up additional scope for action and allows us to explore important new avenues in the pursuit of our mission to promote academic cooperation between excellent researchers at home and abroad.

How you can support our work and our mission

Donations

Your donation will promote the next generation of researchers and their collaboration within the global Humboldt Network by supporting, for example, joint workshops or the international mobility of junior researchers.

We are grateful for all donations, regardless of size. Donations over €500 will be acknowledged in the list of supporters included in our Annual Report. If you would prefer not to be mentioned by name, just let us know.

Contributions to the endowment

Your financial contribution or testamentary gift to the Foundation’s endowment is a lasting legacy that creates additional, long-term opportunities for the Foundation and its activities in the Humboldt Network. We greatly appreciate both testamentary and lifetime gifts. At the same time, we ask for your understanding that we can only accept such contributions in compliance with certain regulations.

We will be pleased to advise you on the ways of realising your intentions. Under certain circumstances, it may even be possible to establish a named research fellowship. Fellowships of this kind for researchers from all countries and disciplines, which are financed by the yield from your contribution, may include your name in the title. They are granted in accordance with the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation’s regular terms and conditions.
