Nominator's project description
Dr. de Angelis has made decisive contributions to nuclear spectroscopy by developing advanced large y-detector arrays and ancillary detectors that have also enabled the European Nuclear Physics Community to extend the study of nuclear structure. Worth mentioning here are his two large instruments, GASP at Legnaro (l) and EUROBALL, that are used by research groups from all European countries. The new research direction to be pursued is the extensive use of additional particle detectors employed in coincidence with y-detector arrays. |
