Workshops for Research Alumni Advisors (2014 - 2018)

When the International Research Marketing project was launched, research alumni activities at universities, universities of applied science, and research institutions in Germany were at the pioneering stage.

In order to support German higher education and research institutions in taking advantage of the potential of their research alumni as multipliers, advisors and points of contact abroad in the context of internationalisation, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation organized workshops for research alumni advisors. The objective was to pool the information held by those responsible for research alumni matters at universities, universities of applied science, and research institutions in Germany.

The first workshops for Research Alumni Advisors took place in Bonn in 2014 and 2015. In 2017, the University of Bayreuth hosted the third workshop and in April 2018, the fourth workshop for Research Alumni Advisors was held at the Garching Campus of the Technical University of Munich (TUM).

The four workshops covered a variety of presentations (in English and German) featuring information which might be useful for successfully carrying out research alumni activities. The Humboldt Foundation is therefore pleased to make these presentations available to those responsible for research alumni activities.

The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation’s activities are a constituent part of the collaborative project “International Research Marketing” which is a joint initiative by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, the German Academic Exchange Service, the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft and the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft.

All the activities within the project are part of the “Promote Innovation and Research in Germany” initiative under its brand “Research in Germany”. The initiative is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
