Collaboration with Brazilian research funding organisation extended

The Humboldt Foundation has worked with the Brazilian research funding organisation Capes since 2012. It plans to continue this collaboration and has now extended its agreement with Capes a second time.

The Humboldt Foundation and the Brazilian research funding organisation CAPES (Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior) have been working together since 2012. The Humboldt Foundation launched the initiative five years with the aim of expanding its network of excellence in Brazil. As a result of this collaboration, a total of 96 Brazilian researchers have been awarded a Capes-Humboldt Research Fellowship to date. This has significantly expanded the Humboldt Foundation's network in Brazil. The joint Capes-Humboldt Research Fellowship programme will now be continued for another six selection rounds during the years 2018 to 2020.

The programme is aimed exclusively at researchers from Brazil. Selections are made by a selection committee, which is jointly appointed by Capes and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. The fellowships are co-financed by the two organisations. The research fellows selected are mentored by the Humboldt Foundation during their stay in Germany.

Online applications must be submitted to both the Humboldt Foundation and Capes at the same time. Further information is available on the programme page.
