Newsletter 1/2016

Dear Reader,

It would be very hard indeed to imagine the Humboldt Foundation’s portfolio without the Georg Forster Research Award. We have awarded this prize since 2012, singling out researchers from transition and developing countries who conduct research on development-related issues. We are all the more pleased that we could confer three additional awards specifically for climate-related research during the current round of awards. These three awards are going to scientists who are helping to meet challenges arising from global climate change ‒ one of the biggest tasks facing humankind today.

In this Newsletter you can learn precisely what our climate research award winners are working on ‒ and much more.
