Professor Schwarcz is one of Latin America's leading humanities scholars and an international authority in the study of Brazilian cultural and social history. She has set decisive impulses for a rigorous historicization of Brazil's colonial history. In her interdisciplinary research, Professor Moritz Schwarcz has provided new insights into Brazilian history. At Freie Universität Berlin, she will continue her research with a focus on the study of Afrobrazilian history and the ongoing efforts to defend the rights of Brazil's indigenous communities. |
