Projektbeschreibung der*des Nominierenden

Professor Chapman is an interdisciplinary biologist who has worked in Kibale National Park, Uganda, for three decades. He is well-known internationally for his research on the roles of food abundance, disease, nutrition and stress in determining primate abundance and how to best conserve the world’s biodiversity. Professor Chapman spearheaded many humanitarian projects like the Health and Conservation Centre and a Mobile Clinic providing healthcare to remote communities. While in Germany he will explore the synergy of providing rural health service to maintain early warning systems for emerging disease, while promoting conservation and advancing theory on zoonotic disease transmission dynamics.
