Dear reader,

As the year draws to a close, we have a great reason to be merry: nominations are now being accepted for the new Humboldt Research Professorship, which is part of the Global Minds Initiative Germany! At yesterday’s press conference at the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space, Minister Dorothee Bär stressed that, “Given the increasing pressure on academic freedom around the world, many researchers are looking for new opportunities to continue their research and careers. It is all the more important that we should be able to offer them attractive career prospects in Germany.”

You’ll find more on this, the latest issue of the Foundation’s Humboldt Kosmos magazine, the call for applications for our International Climate Protection Fellowships, and much more in this newsletter. We wish you interesting read, happy holidays, and a relaxed start to the New Year!
