Dear reader,

“Research unites” – the 450 Humboldtians from 60 nations attending our Annual Meeting held in Berlin in late June provided living proof that science is building bridges even in challenging times. In his opening speech at the reception in the park at Schloss Bellevue, Germany’s Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier said, “Strong networks are needed to protect free and democratic societies”. With its unique global research community, the Humboldt Foundation offers a framework for international understanding and a dialogue on equal terms.

We remain connected – for years and even decades after the fellowship period. This is also demonstrated by this year’s Humboldt Alumni Award winners from the Czech Republic, Ecuador and India. And who are the newly selected Humboldt Professors? You can find out right here in this Newsletter.

Annual Meeting with Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier

"Today more than ever, the truth needs the support of each and every one of us", Steinmeier stressed. All about our celebration of encounters – with 450 Humboldtians, scientific impulses and a reception in the park at Schloss Bellevue.
