Dear reader,

Individually supporting outstanding researchers across countries and disciplines while responding to changes in global conditions – this is the path we are continuing to pursue with our new strategy “resilient science for a changing world”. In this newsletter you will learn more about the main priorities, which include promoting academic freedom and greater cooperation with the Global South in order to address global challenges with local expertise.

What this can mean in a world in which knowledge is unfairly distributed is also a topic in the new edition of our magazine, Humboldt Kosmos. Here we take a closer look at how colonialism is still shaping science, and researchers in our network discuss how we can move closer to equal opportunities in the global science system. Read now!

Also in this newsletter: more on an evaluation of our Humboldt Research Hubs in Africa, current calls and information events on our programmes. Happy reading!
