Nomination for a Humboldt Research Professorship
Are you interested in recruiting an internationally outstanding researcher from abroad for a long-term cooperation with your academic institution? Then the Humboldt Research Professorship could be the right tool for you. All German universities are eligible to submit a nomination. Non-university research institutions in Germany may also submit a nomination together with a university eligible to nominate. Nominations must be submitted by the university’s rector or president with, if applicable, contributions by the academic directorate or board of directors of the non-university research institutions. Our points of contact during the selection process are the cooperation partners at the receiving institutions.
Through its Humboldt Research Professorships, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation enables top-tier researchers of all disciplines from other countries to carry out their innovative and creative research projects in Germany and establish them at German universities. The award amount is usually €1.5 million for theoretical researchers and €3 million for academics in experimental disciplines, both over a period of five years.
Please refer to our website or the programme information to find out exactly what is required for a nomination.
