Nominator's project description
| Prof. Robert D. Cooter is Herman F. Selvin Professor of Law at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law. He is one of the outstanding pioneers in the field of law and economics. Robert Cooter has published articles on the economics of contract law, tort law, property and many other fields of private law as well as of constitutional and regulatory law. He is co-author together with Thomas Ulen of the leading textbook in law and economics, Law & Economcs, Fourth Edition, 2004. He is also the author of The Strategic Constitution, Princeton University Press, 1997. In 1999, the economics faculty of the University of Hamburg awarded him the title of honorary doctor. He is presently working on a project together with Hans-Bernd Schäfer on the law and economics of development. |
