Nominator's project description
| Professor Michael G. Cowling has made important contributions to several areas of mathematics. In particular, he is an authority in the field of harmonic analysis and geometry of Lie groups. Above all, he is known internationally for having solved the Kunze-Stein problem on semi-simple Lie groups. During his stay in Germany he will work on positive definite functions on unimodular groups. |
