Nominator's project description
| Professor Steven Cundiff is very highly regarded internationally in both the field of semiconductor physics and in the field of ultrafast optics. He has made seminal contributors in the development of femtosecond comb technology and its application to precision optical frequency measurements and he has pioneered the research in the field of coherent light - matter interaction, in particular in semiconductor nanostructures and also atomic vapour. During his stay in Germany he intends to explore new areas where femtosecond comb spectroscopy can be applied and he will continue his work on ultrafast optics including the THz frequency regime. |
