Nominator's project description

Dr. John Hildebrand is one of the leading behavioral neurobiologists in the world. He and his research group combine behavioral analysis, cellular and integrative neurophysiology and biochemistry to uncover the cmplex information processing system in insect brains. He has made significant contributions to our understanding of the development of neural networks and the generation of neural responses. The Arizone Research Laboratory for Neurobiology in Tucson, of which he ist the founding director, is considered the preeminent institution for the study of insect neuroethology.
