Nominator's project description
| Professor Jarden inaugurated together with Michael Fried a new interdisciplinary research area called "Field Arithmetic" that borders on arithmetics, algebraic geometry and model theory with special connections to group theory, Galois theory, measure theory, diophantine geometry and combinatorics. His research plan has two main directions: first, the structure of the absolute Galois group of certain arithmetically defined fields and, second, the arithmetical theory of abelian varieties. |
