Nominator's project description
| Professor Jortner is a leading scientist in physical and theoretical chemistry worldwide. He has made important contributions to the dynamics of complex chemical systems from large molecules to biomolecules, through the development of the theory of intramolecular radiationless transitions, electron transfer theory including charge separation in photosynthesis and in biopolymers, cluster size effects and dynamics of large finite systems and dynamics-function relations for biophysical change. In Germany, he continues his visionary research on "Dynamics of large finite systems under extreme conditions". |
