Nominator's project description
Professor Moelmer is an internationally widely known theorist in the field of quantum optics with significant impact on quantum physics. He has made seminal contributions with respect to the role of measurements in the simulation and control of quantum systems, for example the Monte Carlo wavefunction method and the so-called Moelmer-Sorensen gate for creating entanglement, an essential resource of quantum computers. During his stay in Germany, he plans to study conditional measurement dynamics for controlling quantum sensing, quantum computing, quantum error correction, and other applications. |
