Nominator's project description

Professor William Nienhauser receives this award for his commitment to research in traditonal Chinese literature as well as ancient Chinese historiography. His monumental "Indiana Companion to Traditional Chinese Literature" has become a standard reference work for students of Chinese culture, and his translations of the first Chinese standard history are likely to become so as well.
