Nominator's project description

With his seminal works Professor Paulson has cast the legal philosophy of Hans Kelsen, one of the most important legal thinkers of the twentieth century, in a new, imaginative, and stimulating light. In this way, he has given us a new foundation not only of the basis of legal philosophy but also of the general theory of normativity, a central theme of philosophy. Paulson's work has informed philosophy and legal theory at the end of the twentieth and the beginning of the twenty-first century. He now is working on deepening and broadening the interpretation of Kelsen and the understanding of normativity by analyzing both in the context of neo-Kantian philosophy.
