Nominator's project description
| Professor Dr. Srinivasan Ramakrishnan receives the Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Research Award for his outstanding contributions to the field of magnetism, superconductivity and charge ordering in intermetallic compounds based on transition metals and/or f-elements. His investigation of the charge density wave and of its coexistence with magnetism or superconductivity in the R4Ir4Si10 compounds has opened a new fascinating field which shall be the subject of a common research project with the Max Planck Institute of Chemical Physics in Dresden. |
