| Professor Schmidtke is one of the most influential scholars in Arabic and Islamic studies. Her pioneering work on Islamic intellectual history has transformed perspectives in the study of Islam. In Germany, Professor Schmidtke will continue her research on the philosophical and theological schools in Islam and work on her book project Travelling Knowledge: Towards a Historical Bibliography of the Islamic World. |
