Nominator's project description

Professor Tavoni is one of Italy’s most outstanding and internationally prominent Dante scholars. His authority as a leading expert in Italian historical linguistics is reflected by a combination of a strong focus on literary texts, the history of literature and culture, and the epistemology of the late medieval and early modern periods in Italy. In Germany, he intends to write a new monograph on the visionary aspects of Dante’s Divine Comedy.
