Nominator's project description
| Professor Weiss has made deep contributions to algebra, graph theory and geometry. His investigations of groups acting on graphs lead to a better understanding of finite simple groups. Together with Jaques Tits he published the monograph "Moufang polygons", which completes a geometric classifications project of fundamental significance. He plans to continue his research on Moufang sets in Germany. |
