Nominator's project description
| Prof. Yagi has made outstanding contributions to the study of structure and properties of materials under extreme conditions of temperatures and pressures. Through his developments of innovative experimental method, he has studied phase equilibria, crystal chemistry and structure, equations of state and transformation kinetics of Earth materials, superconductors and semiconductors at high pressure. He has an international reputation resulting from his contributions to understanding the composition and structure of the Earth's deep interior, as well as for contributions to physics and material science. |
