Nominator's project description
Prof. Xiaoyang Zhu is honoured for his outstanding achievements in the field of physical chemistry and biochemistry at surfaces. His work addresses both fundamental questions of surface dynamics, electron transfer and molecular self organization at interfaces as well as transfer of such basic knowledge to technological application in micro mechanical systems. The cooperation with Prof. Martin Wolf at the Freie Universität Berlin will combine his discoveries to study elementary processes of molecular switches at surfaces and applications to molecular electronics. |
