Nominator's project description
| Professor Tanihata is an outstanding, internationally renowned experimentalist in nuclear physics, astrophysics, reactions and applications with exotic nuclear beams. He pioneered the research with relativistic radioactive projectile fragments and discovered the epoch-making halo phenomenon in nuclei. His work largely influenced the layout of next-generation accelerator research facilities. In Germany he will study the tensor interaction and charge radii of extremely neutron-poor nuclei. |
