| Professor Angelos Chaniotis from the Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton, United States of America Through his numerous studies on Greek inscriptions, Professor Chaniotis has contributed to a deeper understanding of the religion, the society, the institutions, and the political culture in the ancient Greek world and in the eastern provinces of the Roman Empire. His international reputation as a leading ancient historian is founded on his innovative research in the social and cultural aspects of war, in the construction and transmission of memory and identity, and in the significance of rituals, theatricality, and emotions in the history of the Greek and Roman world. Professor Angelos Chaniotis is hosted by Professor Jens-Uwe Krause at Universität München. |
