Nominator's project description

Professor Troje is well-known internationally for his work on the perception of biological motion - the intriguing ability of the human visual system to retrieve detailed information about actions, intentions and identity of other persons from the way they move. He has established mathematical models for such movements and uncovered the biological mechanisms underlying their perception. In Germany, Professor Troje intends to generalize his work to other forms of non-rigid motion and explore methods to realistically synthesize such animations.
