Nominator's project description
| Professor Ostrikov is an acknowledged pioneer and leader in the rapidly emerging research and technology area of Plasma Nanoscience. He made seminal contributions to structuring matter at atomic and nanometre scales using his pioneering plasma nanoscience approaches to create new materials, processes and devices for sustainable future applications. In Germany, his research will focus on new plasma devices, precursor materials, and nanoscale assembly. This should lead to a new printing platform for scalable, on-demand digital manufacturing of a broad range of high-performance nanomaterials for energy, biomedical, electronics, aerospace, and other industries, using Earth-abundant precursor materials and renewable energy. Professor Ostrikov is mainly hosted by Professor Klaus-Dieter Weltmann at the Leibniz Institute of Plasma Science and Technology in Greifswald. |
