Nominator's project description
| Professor Wasielewski is a world-leading expert in photochemistry. He is best known for his pioneering contributions to the understanding of photo-induced electron transfer reactions in biomimetic models for the photosynthetic reaction center. Towards this goal his laboratory has been at the forefront of designing sophisticated supramolecular structures and applying both ultrafast laser and time-resolved EPR spectroscopy. With his research he has contributed to the fundamental understanding of the interaction of light with matter in many scientific disciplines including photochemical processes in chemistry, biology, and materials science. |
