Nominator's project description
| Professor Weigold has made outstanding contributions to the understanding of the electronic structure of atoms, molecules and solids. The first direct observation of the band structure of solids has demonstrated that it is not only a helpful graphical representation of the electronic structure described in nearly every textbook for solid state physics but it also exists in the real world. The project aims at the investigation of the band structure of new materials. |
