Nominator's project description
| Prof. Dr. Joseph Lalah from TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF KENYA (TU-K) Professor Lalah is well-known for his outstanding research in environmental sciences. He has made important contributions to the characterization, improvement and conservation of the Kenyan environment and the understanding of the fate of environmental pollutants in general as well as under African climatic conditions. He was leading the defense of intoxication of lions followed by the intoxication of vultures and thus avoiding the collapse of the hygiene system in African wildlife ecosystem. During his stay in Germany he will work on arsenic, mercury and antimony as heavy metals of high toxicological potential, their environmental distribution and speciation in freshwaters in Kenya and their toxicity modeling because no information is available for his country. Professor Lalah is hosted by Professor Werner Schramm at the Helmholz Zentrum Munich. |
