Nominator's project description

Professor Mamun is well known internationally for his outstanding research in the areas of nonlinear waves and structures in complex plasmas. Specifically, he has made important contributions to the theory of solitary and shock waves in dusty plasmas. Professor Mamun uses innovative approaches to solve nonlinear problems that are relevant to space and laboratory plasmas. During his stay in Germany, he intends to work on challenging problems dealing with nonlinear dust oscillations and dust vortex motions in strongly coupled dusty magnetoplasmas. He will collaborate with Prof. Dr. Padma Kant Shukla at the Ruhr University Bochum.
