Nominator's project description
| Professor Raschke is internationally renowned for his highly original achivements in the field of near-field microscopy and nano-optics for ultrahigh spatial resolution imaging. By identifying fundamental optical processes, probing microscopic electronic and vibrational processes he has contributed to a deeper understanding of elementary processes in molecules and solids on the nanoscale. During his stay in Germany, he will expand on his novel concepts of nano-focusing of ultrashort laser pulses on sharp tips for ultrafast electron imaging and time resolved scanning probe microscopy. |
