Nominator's project description
| Professor MacLeod has made outstanding contributions to the history of science, of technology and of science policy in the US and Europe as well as in Australia and the Pacific region. Especially known is his work at the intersections of science, industry and the economy as well as science, technology and the war systems. He established the journal "Social Studies of Science" which subsequently became a reference-journal in the history of science. During his stay in Germany, Professor MacLeod will explore the impact of the war of World War I on the sciences in Germany, Great Britain, and France on the basis of comparative studies. |
