Nominator's project description
| Professor Grigorchuk is known internationally for his principal contributions to the group theory and adjacent areas of mathematics. One of his major achievements was the construction of groups of intermediate growth that solved a long-standing problem in this area. In Germany he continues his research on return probabilities of random walks on groups. |
