Nominator's project description
| As a material scientist from the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, USA, Dr. Easo George has gained world-wide recognition for his scientific achievments in the field of processing and properties of engineering materials for energy production. His research focusses on the role of small quantities of impurities in plasic deformation and damage accumulation of advaced high temperature materials. He has helped to understand the role of Sulfur in the nucleation of creep cavities in iron, the role of Boron in the plastic deformation of Ni3A1 and the role of non-equilibrium vacancies in the anomalous temperature dependence of the yield stress in iron aluminides. |
