Nominator's project description
| Professor Ramkrishna has received a Humboldt Award for his pioneering research in the application of mathemtical methods for solving challenging prolems in chemical and biochemical engineering. Such problems involve mathematical modeling towards capturing the essential behaviour of these systems, parameter identification and system analysis. Major contributions focuson the application of linear operator theroy to chemical processes, theory and application of population balances to particulate processes and cybernetic modeling of biological systems. With the research groups at the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems in Magdeburg he will cooperate in fields of: population balance modeling of precipitation processes in emulsion systems together with Professor K. Schumacher and nonlinear analysis of complex chemical reactors together with Dr. A. Kienle |
