Nominator's project description
| Over the past two decades, Professor Murahashi has made most significant contributions in the area of environmentally sustainable, efficient organic synthesis. He has developed methodologies which dramatically reduce unnecessary wastes during the production of organic compounds such as pharmaceutical intermediates. Professor Murahashi has developed original organometallic methodologies and propagated biomimetic catalysis which ingeniously emulate metallo-enzymes in nature. The research project in Mainz will expand these novel concepts to the synthesis of new polymeric materials. |
