Nominator's project description

Professor Ralph Chamberlin has made outstanding contributions in the physics of disordered system, including magnetic systems, glasses and polymers. During the last years his interest moved towards the thermal and dynamic behaviour of nanoscale systems, like magnetic whiskers, molecular magnets and colloidal systems, which currently gain increasing importance in technical applications. During his stay in Germany he will collaborate in the field of supercooled liquids as well as ferromagnetic and ferroelectric nanoparticles, both experimentally and theoretically.
