Nominator's project description
| Professor Charles Maier is an outstanding historian who has worked on the re-construction of Europe after World War I. He has published on the crisis of communism, recent German and global history. He has also helped much to intensify the exchange among scholars and intellectuals from Europe and the United States. During his stay in Berlin he will deal with relations between history and geography in the 17th-20th century ("The Passing of the Territoral Era"). He will also focus on problems of memory and stituation in recent German history. |
