Nominator's project description
| At unusually young age, Eric Suraud was appointed professor at the "Universit\'e Paul Sabatier" in Toulouse. He took that step as motivation for another move in his scientific interests. He turned to the "dynamics of nano-particles in intense fields", a very timely subject in view of the increasing interest in nano-science and the progress in laser physics which provides tunable and well localized strong electrical fields. Over the years, he has developed with his group a worldwide unique network of programs for a microscopic description of electronic and ionic motion in nano-clusters, applicable in all dynamical regimes up to the most violent Coulomb explosion. Accordingly, he has produced a broad palette of publications on these topics among them several review articles. |
