Nominator's project description

Professor Paxinos receives the award for his eminent contributions to brain mapping. His pioneering work is the basis for a stereotaxic localization of morphologically defined brain regions. His atlases of human and non-human brains are indispensable tools in all neuroscientific institutions all over the world. The Award will support his long lasting collaboration with the Institute of Brain Research at the University of Düsseldorf and with other universities in Germany.
