Nominator's project description

Professor Seregin is an outstanding expert in Mathematical Physics with fundamental contributions in different fields such as fluid mechanics, plasticity theory and the theory of phase transitions in elastic solids. For example, in plasticity theory he was the first who investigated a problem, which seemed to be out of reach for several decades. For many years he has worked out his own techniques which enabled him to solve this regularity problem. During his stay in Germany a part of his studies will be devoted to the analysis of the behaviour of solutions to certain equations arising in non-Newtonian fluid mechanics.
