Nominator's project description
| Professor Gutnick is a pioneer in the study of the cellular physiology of the neocortex. His analyses not only shed light on the normal cortex, but it also forms a basis for better understanding of altered cellular and network properties in pathological states, such as epilepsy and cerebral hypoxia. During his stay in Germany, Professor Gutnick will concentrate on the channels that underlie sodium currents in cortical neurons, and their role in cortical epileptogenesis. |
