Nominator's project description
| Professor Jain is a world-famous scientist with broad experience in designing pattern recognition systems in computer vision and biometrics. He has set standards for the analysis of data clustering algorithms with his textbook "Algorithms for Clustering Data". His research in biometric authentication has received worldwide attention and earned him reputation as an authority in biometric pattern analysis. The collaboration research project between Professor Jain and Buhmann at the University of Bonn will address two of the most fundamental and challenging problems in pattern recognition and image processing: cluster analysis and image segmentation. |
