Nominator's project description

Professor Aharony has done pioneering work on the theory of critical phenomena associated with phase transitions in condensed matter, in particular, considering effects of quenched disorder. His research includes illuminating work on percolation theory, structure and dynamics of fractal objects, related quantum phenomena such as localization of electronic states, and magnetic interactions in cuprates. He plans to collaborate on these topics with colleagues in Cologne, Dresden and Mainz.
